Area women on a budget have a new local option to find stylish clothes at affordable prices.
Clothes Mentor opens Saturday at 1900 Plainfield Road in Crest Hill. The store, part of a national resale shop chain, buys and sells women’s clothing in good condition from size 0 to 26. Brands include Coach, DKNY, Louis Vitton, Ralph Lauren, Lane Bryant, Coldwater Creek, Saks, Eddie Bauer and more, according to a release.
“We’re a totally different form of shopping,” said owner Elaine Krieger in a release.
“We fit the growing style, brand and value consciousness of Southwest Chicagoland women who love fashion and adore 80 percent savings.”
Clothes Mentor buys good-condition clothes for cash, not consignment, Krieger added. Clothes must be name brand, a current style, freshly laundered and free of stains or defects. No appointment is necessary to bring in clothes.
Krieger is the owner of several local consignment shops, including Plato’s Closet and Once Upon a Child resale stores in Crest Hill, Naperville and Orland Park. Last month, she was named the Entrepreneurial Success of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
