Make sure your pool is Safe this summer with these nice helpful safty tips
Help Prevent Drowning’s:
Practice Supervision•Never take your eyes off of children in the water.
•Make sure the depths of the pool are clearly marked.
•Keep a cordless (not a cell) phone near the pool.
•In case of a pool emergency, call 911 immediately, than initiate rescue attempts.
•In public swimming pools, always swim in areas supervised by a lifeguard.
Install Barriers
•It is recommended that all residential pools have a 4 foot barrier, such as a fence with a self-closing and self-latching gate. Please check City Ordinances regarding pools and fences.
•Consider installing an alarm if anyone or anything should fall into the pool. Remember: a child can drown in less than 2 minutes.
Avoid Entrapments
•Suction from a pools drain can be so powerful it can trap an adult underwater. Do not use a pool if the drain cover is missing.
•Pool covers should always be completely removed prior to use.
Know Life Saving Skills
•Teach your children how to swim.
•Learn CPR and First Aid.
•Post CPR and First Aid instructions near the pool.
